LAKE LANCELOT DAMS
Five dams impact Lake Lancelot. The dams are earthen dams that were constructed in the 1970s. They create a chain-like series of water control structures that maximize the function of the lake for property owners and for recreation. The five basic structures are Grass Lake Dam (also known as Lake Lancelot Dam), Saddle Dam No. 1, Saddle Dam No. 2, Saddle Dam No. 3 and Saddle Dam No. 3-Outlet. Two of the dams are drop structures, or low-head dams, that regulate water velocity and help prevent erosion.
Significant improvements to the dams of Lake Lancelot are needed because of age and deterioration, including installing a new inlet structure and replacing the current metal pipe drop structures with concrete pipes.
